For many months now, I've been searching for the perfect project car. I've looked on Ebay, at dealers' websites, and gone on wandering car trips to see what I can find on peoples' property. But most of all, we have used craigslist.

Craigslist has been a very handy resource, as we can search only a certain area and come up with much more results than on sites like Classiccars.com. We can also type in terms like "project" or "VW Beetle" and it won't come up with a fully restored Dodge Charger, as has happened on many a classic car site. It has lead us to four out of our five projects we've looked at seriously.
But there always has to be the cons. One of the major disadvantages of Craigslist is people who list their car for $200 when inside the ad it explains that it is really $25,000. Another disadvantage is that not many people know how to take good photos, and many rust spots are dismissed as just blurs in the whole blurry photo by many viewers. But overall, it is a good site for project-searchers and people just buying anything else. photo from www.logoblog.org.
